Save Iowa Summers is a coalition of individuals, communities, organizations and businesses supporting the current law requiring schools to begin the school year no earlier than August 23rd.

The school year is not the only time for students and teachers to pursue academic advancement. The summer is a great time for students to take college classes, invest in summer academic programs and explore educational activities such as camps and workshops. For those with summer jobs, students can provide additional money for their families or save it for higher education. Summer also allows teachers to pursue higher education and learning opportunities to take new ideas and skills back to the classroom when school begins.

Join us in advocating for a uniform school start and end date for Iowa students that maximizes the learning and skills built through summer activities.
